The CSV100 external release device is mainly intended for use with automatic security roller shutters that have weight compensation springs. It is used when we want to disengage the central motor of the roller shutter from its exterior side, to operate it manually in case of a power outage. The device is compact, heavy-duty, and has an elegant design.
The motor is released via a bowden cable from the electric brake. Pulling the cable is achieved by opening the cover of the release device. Stretching the cable disengages the motor brake, thus allowing the roller shutter to be raised and lowered manually.
The device is suitable for external mounting, as its body is made of steel and has an opening door with hidden hinges that locks with a key.
The package includes 2 keys.
During installation, it is essential to ensure that the bowden cable is not visible and cannot be accessed from the exterior of the roller shutter, except through the release device, for safety reasons. If the cable is exposed from the outside, then the roller shutter can be disengaged relatively easily by anyone. It is also very important that the bowden cable does not make sharp turns and meets the back side of the release device perpendicularly, so that its wire moves freely without snagging. Finally, the device must be very firmly secured to the wall or any other mounting point on a flat surface we choose.
